New dentists take center stage at SmileCon

New Dentist Experience: SmileCon will offer courses designed to meet the unique needs of new dentists.

SmileCon offers new dentists an experience all their own, from courses designed to meet their unique needs to events that celebrate their early-career achievements.

Some continuing education courses that may be of special interest to new dentists include:

Practice Management Skills for Team Members and New Dentists (5301 and 6308), 1-4 p.m. Oct. 17 and 18, Room 268.
Canva Master Class: Stand Out on Social Media (5304, 6306 and 6311), 1-4 p.m. Oct. 17, 8:30-11:30 a.m. Oct. 18, 1-4 p.m. Oct. 18, Room 236.
MATE Act Opioid Course: Assessing and Referring Adult/Geriatric Patients (5116), 2:30-4 p.m. Oct. 17, Room 242.
Tiny Smiles: How and Why of the Age 1 Visit (7103), 8:30-10 a.m. Oct. 19, Room 239.
Building Your 2025 Marketing, Social Media, and Branding Strategy (7302), 8:30-11:30 a.m. Oct. 19, Room 236.

Advocates, professors and rising stars in organized dentistry are among this year’s winners of the ADA 10 Under 10 Awards, who will be recognized during SmileCon’s first Changemakers Celebration. The celebration, taking place from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 18 in the La Nouvelle Orleans Ballroom, will honor the ADA’s various annual award winners.

The ADA New Dentist Committee chose the 10 Under 10 recipients for demonstrating excellence and inspiring others in science, research and education; practice excellence; philanthropy; leadership; and advocacy. All 10 winners are ADA members who graduated dental school less than 10 years ago.
