ADA seeks new dentist for Dental Team Wellness Advisory Committee

Group advocates for real change in how profession supports mental health

...

The ADA Council on Dental Practice is seeking a new dentist who is passionate about creating a culture of wellness in dentistry to serve on its Dental Team Wellness Advisory Committee.

The committee advises the council on issues related to the health and wellness of dentists and dental team members. Its members meet virtually each quarter and serve three-year terms. By being part of the committee, the new dentist will have the chance to:

• Be a voice for their generation of dental professionals.

• Advocate for real change in how the dental profession supports mental health.

• Help design wellness initiatives that directly impact their peers.

• Build leadership skills while contributing to something meaningful.

• Collaborate with other like-minded professionals in creating a healthier, more supportive environment for all dental team members.

The council is looking for a new dentist who is passionate about health, well-being and mental health awareness; willing to step up, speak out and lead; and open to sharing ideas, listening deeply and helping create positive, lasting change. New dentists are less than 10 years out of dental school.

“We are seeking a new dentist to be a visionary and champion for mental and physical health for the committee,” said Margaret S. Gingrich, D.D.S., chair of the Dental Team Wellness Advisory Committee and member of the Council on Dental Practice. “One of the No. 1 benefits new dentists are looking for is help with work-life balance and not becoming burned out. If you are looking for an opportunity to create positive change within our association for members of your generation, please apply.”

Those interested should email their curriculum vitae or resume and a brief letter of interest to dentalpractice@ada.org by Aug. 20. No previous committee experience is required.
