ADA 10 Under 10: Meet Dr. Allison C. Scully
Award honors new dentists for demonstrating excellence
Allison C. Scully, D.D.S., of Indiana — one of this year’s recipients of the ADA 10 Under 10 Award — has built a career that includes a mix of everything she loves.
The 2015 graduate of the Indiana University School of Dentistry is an associate professor at her alma mater and a pediatric dentist at a private practice. With the support of a Health Resources and Services Administration grant, she also conducts research to help improve access to oral health care for underserved populations in her home state.
“One of the things that inspires me [is] the idea of what if I teach one of my students or residents just one thing that they can use with their patients and take on to their career,” Dr. Scully said in a video by the American Dental Association. “So I’ve multiplied my impact just unimaginably.”
The ADA New Dentist Committee chose the recipients of the 10 Under 10 Award for demonstrating excellence and inspiring others in science, research and education; practice excellence; philanthropy; leadership; and advocacy. All 10 awardees are ADA members who graduated from dental school less than 10 years ago. The honorees were announced in March 2025 during Elevate in Washington, D.C.
