CDC investigates outbreak on luxury cruise ship

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is investigating an outbreak of an unknown illness on the cruise ship Queen Victoria in the Pacific. 

Operated by Cunard Cruise Line, the ship was docked at Fort Lauderdale, Florida, when passengers and crew began reporting symptoms of gastrointestinal illness such as diarrhea and vomiting. According to the CDC, 129 of the 1,824 passengers and 25 of the 967 crew members onboard reported being ill.

Cunard Cruise Line has taken steps to mitigate the outbreak, including increased cleaning and disinfection procedures as well as isolating the ill passengers and crew.
