Humanitarian group delivering webinar on international teaching — virtually

Have you wanted to volunteer internationally but seem sidelined by the pandemic?

Try virtual.

Virtual international teaching projects are the subject of an upcoming webinar from the humanitarian nonprofit Health Volunteers Overseas .

Virtual Projects at HVO — Successes and Challenges will stream April 23 at 2 p.m. Eastern time.

The free one-hour session is part of the nonprofit’s virtual lecture series called Topics in Global Health.

Two HVO volunteers — Habib Ghaddar, M.D., and Elizabeth Shick, D.D.S. — are the presenters.

The duo have experience donating their time and expertise during the pandemic even when those benefiting from their efforts were a world away. Dr. Ghaddar and colleagues worked with a group of palliative care nurses in an oncology department in Bhutan, while Dr. Shick was involved in delivering a series of pediatric dentistry modules to dental students, faculty and clinicians in Nepal.

The HVO will also record the session and will post it on the HVO YouTube channel.
