Sept. 1 is the deadline to nominate someone for the 2023 ADA Humanitarian Award, a recognition open to member dentists who have distinguished themselves by giving a minimum of 10 years to improving the oral health of underserved populations stateside.
The award includes a $10,000 gift to the dental charity/project of the recipient's choice. The ADA typically recognizes the award recipient at the ADA's annual meeting.
Any individual may nominate any active, life or retired ADA member in good standing by submitting a nomination for consideration by the Board of Trustees.
The nomination page, an ADA Foundation site, requires the nominator to create an account first. Nominations received after the Sept. 1 deadline will be placed on file along with the required documentation for consideration the following year. A nominator is limited to one Humanitarian Award nomination per year.
