Free ADA offering streams Sept. 28 at noon Central time
The ADA's Health Policy Institute is hosting a webinar on Sept. 28 that will feature key findings and policy implications from two studies it conducted with researchers from the University of California San Francisco on postgraduate education and how it relates to health equity.
Who Goes into Postgraduate Dental Training and What Do They Do After? streams at noon Central time.
These studies are included in the latest issue of the Journal of Dental Education, focusing on health equity issues as they relate to dental training programs in the U.S.
One study examines the individual, educational and policy factors that predict which dentists pursue postgraduate dental education. The second study examines the individual, educational, community and policy factors that predict practice patterns of postgraduate-trained dentists, including whether they work in a federally qualified health center or participate in Medicaid.
The presenter is Elizabeth Mertz, Ph.D., principal investigator and professor in the School of Dentistry of the University of California San Francisco. She is joined by two panelists: Emily Hawes, Pharm.D., associate professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Department of Family Medicine; and Jennifer Holtzman, D.D.S., dental officer of the Health Resources and Services Administration's Bureau of Health Workforce.
Marko Vujicic, Ph.D., chief economist and vice president of ADA's Health Policy Institute, will moderate.
