Nominations are due Sept. 29 for Certified Dental Technician of the Year, an award bestowed by the National Board for Certification in Dental Laboratory Technology.

The board annually recognizes a certified dental technician who, according to the application guidelines, “has made contributions to their peers and the dental laboratory profession and has gone above and beyond the call of duty.”

The application is available at emailmeform.com/builder/form/T727E6OoRPlew9Hj.

"Certified dental technicians are dedicated to improving the profession each and every day,” said Manny Chopra, D.M.D., chair of the ADA Council on Dental Practice. “I hope my fellow dentists will recognize CDTs who devote their lives to partnering with dental professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.”

Dentists are invited to nominate an active technician they believe deserves to be recognized.

If the person submitting a nomination chooses, they may submit a formal letter of recommendation to the board’s awards committee on behalf of the person nominated.

The award recipient will be invited to the NADL Vision21 meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, in January, where they will be presented with their award.

Nominations may also be submitted to NBC Awards Nominations, 325 John Knox Road, Suite L103, Tallahassee, FL 32303, emailed to certification@nbccert.org or faxed to 1-850-222-0053.

Contact Deborah Caldwell at 1-800-684-5310 or dcaldwell@nbccert.org for any questions about the nomination process.
