Join Alliance of the ADA, ADPAC during SmileCon to learn about dental legislative wins

Register by Sept. 25 for advocacy breakfast

...

The Alliance of the American Dental Association is hosting an advocacy breakfast in conjunction with SmileCon to share updates from the American Dental Political Action Committee on legislative progress.

The event, which is sponsored by ADPAC, will take place from 8-9:30 a.m. Oct. 6 in the Lake Nona Room at the Hilton Orlando in Orlando, Florida. The Alliance is made up of ADA member spouses, partners and families.

The presentation, Legislative and ADPAC Advancements: Tracking ADA Wins and Progress, will include comments by Hal Fair, D.M.D., ADPAC chair-elect; Abe Abdul, D.M.D., president of the Massachusetts Dental Society; and Chad Olson, director of state government affairs for the ADA.

Dr. Fair is the chair-elect of ADPAC, having served on the committee since 2018. He previously was president of the South Carolina Dental Association and chair of the ADA Council on Dental Practice and practiced general dentistry in Wagener, South Carolina, from 1978 to 2017.

Dr. Abdul is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and affiliated with a multispecialty practice. He was involved with the passage of the Massachusetts Question 2 ballot measure in November 2022 that established a medical loss ratio for dentistry in the state.

Mr. Olson leads a team that identifies state legislative/regulatory trends impacting the dental profession and provides public policy advice that complements and enhances dental association and member dentist efforts. Prior to joining the ADA, he spent more than 10 years with Delta Dental. During that time, he helped formulate Delta Dental’s health care reform strategy leading up to and following the passage of the Affordable Care Act.
