Webinar to cover integration of medical, oral health

An upcoming webinar will cover how health care providers can integrate medical and oral health.

Whole Person Care: Interdisciplinary Medical and Oral Health will stream from 1-2 p.m. Aug. 6. The Health Resources and Services Administration and Bureau of Primary Health Care will host the session and highlight opportunities, challenges and recommendations to enhance integration. The webinar will feature representatives from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Mile Square Health Center.

The discussion will include changes in the oral health policy within Medicare and the barriers to dental care access in Medicaid; the burden of chronic diseases and their association with oral health outcomes; and strategies to integrate oral health into primary care.
