Cody C. Graves, D.D.S., elected ADA treasurer

Cody C. Graves, D.D.S., a general dentist from Goldthwaite, Texas, was voted ADA treasurer Oct. 22 by the House of Delegates in New Orleans.

Dr. Graves is past president of the Texas Dental Association and served as its secretary/treasurer for seven years. He was also chair of the budget and finance committee for the Texas Dental Association and secretary/treasurer, vice president and president of 21-B, Heart of Texas Local Component Society. Dr. Graves obtained a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Texas at Austin and received his D.D.S. degree from the Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry. He also holds an MBA from St. Edward’s University.

Dr. Graves ran against David J. Manzanares, D.D.S., of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Peter C. Shatz, D.D.S., of Atlanta; and Howard M. Zolot, D.M.D., of North Andover, Massachusetts.

“David, Howard and Peter, thank you for volunteering and everything you’ve done for this association. It’s been better with y’all in it,” Dr. Graves said during his acceptance speech. “The time is now. It’s time to work. Let’s get this figured out. I’m ready to serve.”

Dr. Graves replaces outgoing Treasurer Ted Sherwin, D.D.S., of Orange, Virginia, who served two three-year terms.
