The winners of the Technology Showcase and Innovation Expo at ADA Forsyth dentech 2024 are SprintRay and Grin.

The companies were two of 12 finalists who competed in the signature showcase at the fourth annual dentech conference, the world’s leading oral health innovation investment forum. The technology showcase draws investors from around the world who are interested in exploring opportunities in the $140 billion untapped market.

“Congratulations, I think your technology is truly exciting,” Wenyuan Shi, Ph.D., chief executive officer of the ADA Forsyth Institute, said in his Oct. 25 announcement of the winners.

SprintRay is a technology company specializing in 3D printing, artificial intelligence and advanced BioMaterials. Through its products, the company allows dental professionals to create custom dental appliances like crowns, bridges and dentures with high speed and accuracy.

Grin is a digital platform that provides various solutions for oral health needs. The Grin App helps doctors access a full patient management suite. Patients can access professional care from their smart devices, and doctors can remotely monitor patients through virtual check-ins.

The other 10 finalists included RTRS, OrisDX, Pearl, Oral Science International, ToothApps, Vigilant, OralGenome, Cloud, Relu and Voyager. Over two days, each group delivered a 10-minute presentation on what their companies offer, followed by a short question and answer period.

“[You are] greatly successful to make it this far, whether you are the finalist or you are the winner,” Dr. Shi said.

This year’s expo included a range of competitors from early-stage startups to established companies, and was sponsored by CareQuest Innovation Partners and Colgate.

Dr. Shi concluded dentech 2024 with some encouraging words for all the finalists and the future of ADA Forsyth dentech.

“We’re just so proud to be part of the ADA. We’re so excited to see that dentech is really upgrading to a new level, and I can’t even imagine what the next one is going to look like. I can’t even imagine 10 years from now what dentech will be. All the startups here are already making [an] impact,” he said. “You’re [turning] the dream of the initial idea into reality, and we’re very honored to be part of it and see the success.”
