National Academies to host Advancing Oral Health Across the Lifespan workshop
Workshop to take place Nov. 18-19
The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine is set to hold a workshop Nov. 18-19 to explore practices for advancing oral health in the U.S. across the lifespan.
The event, called Advancing Oral Health Across the Lifespan: A Workshop, aims to address the oral diseases affecting vulnerable populations and examine ways to sustainably implement strategies to reduce disparities and improve oral health.
It will discuss topics like the national oral health goals for zero cavities for all children age 6; sustainable solutions that improve access to oral health services; models that achieve meaningful oral and systemic health integration; models to empower consumers to make informed choices related to oral health; investments in public oral health education campaigns; and innovations to improve oral health in the coming years.
Dentists and experts in the oral health field are encouraged to attend the public workshop, but they must register beforehand. Individuals interested in participating can find more information and registration details here.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. in the NASEM building, located at 2101 Constitution Ave. NW in Washington, D.C., and attendees who cannot attend in person may register to attend virtually.
