Call for public nominees to CODA

The Council on Dental Education and Licensure is assisting the Commission on Dental Accreditation in identifying individuals interested in serving as public/consumer representatives on the board of commissioners.
CODA’s mission is to serve the public and dental profession by developing and implementing accreditation standards that promote and monitor the continuous quality and improvement of dental education programs. The board of commissioners is comprised of the broad communities of interest; those affected by CODA’s accreditation activities. The board of commissioners meets twice a year to set accreditation standards and policies and take accreditation actions on dental, allied dental and advanced dental education programs.
Candidates should have an interest in or knowledge of health professions related to education and accreditation matters but must not have a formal or informal connection to the profession of dentistry. Nominees can’t be dentists, allied dental personnel or employed by or a consultant to a dental education program. Nominees also cannot be a member or employee of any professional/trade association, licensing/regulatory agency or membership organization related to, affiliated with or associated with CODA, dental education or dentistry.
Nominees interested in being considered can visit CODA’s website and submit a completed nomination form to coda@ada.org no later than July 1. For questions, contact Marjorie Hooper, CODA coordinator, at hooperm@ada.org.
The CODA Board of Commissioners will consider public/consumer representative nominees at its August meeting.
