ADA seeks member input on CDT codes for local anesthesia

Survey responses due by Aug. 6

...

The American Dental Association is seeking input from member dentists on how the CDT Code is used to document and report the administration of local anesthesia, including local infiltrations and nerve blocks.

Participants’ responses to the survey will inform future ADA Council on Dental Benefit Programs positions at Code Maintenance Committee meetings to ensure that the CDT Code continues to support accurate and practical clinical documentation and reporting, according to the ADA.

The survey asks dentists about their use of local anesthesia codes, their view of distinctions between the current codes and their interpretation of other anesthesia-related language in the CDT Code.

The deadline to respond to the survey is Aug. 6. Dentists can email dentalcode@ada.org with any questions.
