AI can help reduce administrative burdens

A study from Stanford University found that using artificial intelligence to generate draft replies to patient inbox messages reduced burden and burnout scores in medical professionals but didn’t reduce the amount of time they spent on this task.

“The emergence and promise of generative artificial intelligence represent a turning point for health care,” the study’s authors wrote. “Rigorous evaluation of generative AI deployment in clinical practice is needed to inform strategic decision-making.”
