Alcohol use may be declining across United States
Survey data show a large proportion of Americans may be attempting to reduce their alcohol consumption.
In a survey conducted by NCSolutions, investigators asked 1,131 Americans aged 21 years and older about their attitudes toward alcohol consumption. They found that 49% of the respondents reported plans to reduce their alcohol consumption in 2025. Further, 65% and 39% of Generation Z Americans intended to decrease their alcohol consumption and abstain from alcohol, respectively.
The investigators suggested that a movement trending toward greater physical and mental health, financial and lifestyle considerations may be encouraging to reductions in alcohol intake.
The findings of the survey identified shifting social dynamics surrounding drinking habits, highlighting preferences favoring mindful alcohol consumption.
