Despite the touted health benefits of the beverages — including fiber and good bacteria — prebiotic and probiotic sodas may still contain high amounts of added sugars, alternative sweeteners and acidic ingredients like lime juice, acetic acid, citric acid and vinegar.
Although these sodas may not be as damaging as traditional sodas, they may still be capable of eroding the teeth if consumed frequently. For instance, experts cited in the article stressed that the combination of these components may weaken tooth enamel and increase the risk of cavities.
