City among latest to terminate community water fluoridation

Brooksville, Florida, water users won’t be enjoying fluoride in their drinking water, the city council decided April 1.

It's no change considering repairs to the water system in the past few months has prevented the fluoridation of the city's water, according to the public works chief.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, American Dental Association and other groups, fluoride has been proven to protect teeth from decay. Experts and science say water fluoridation helps to rebuild and strengthen the tooth’s surface, preventing tooth decay.
