College tuition costs may be dropping

The cost of college tuition may be declining, according to a news report from USA Today.

After adjusting for inflation, experts cited in the report have found that tuition for in-state, four-year public colleges and private nonprofit colleges has fallen over the past decade. Many colleges may also offer discounted tuition rates to students to meet their financial needs.

Further, student aid has increased, leading to a larger proportion of attendees who graduate without student debt.

The experts suggested that public skepticism, declining college enrollment rates and the rising cost of living may have encouraged colleges to slow tuition increases.
