Dental testing agencies to merge
The Central Regional Dental Testing Service and the States Resources for Testing and Assessments have announced a planned merger of these two clinical licensure examination testing agencies. The resulting entity will continue to provide clinical dental and dental hygiene examination in the United States, under the direction of a steering committee comprised of state dental board members.
The examinations of CRDTS and SRTA compete in the clinical licensure examination space with the examinations of the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations. The JCNDE — an independent agency of the ADA — helps protect the public health through valid, reliable and fair dental and dental hygiene clinical and cognitive assessments with superior psychometric properties.
The JCNDE’s Dental Licensure Objective Structured Clinical Examination is currently accepted in eight states. The JCNDE’s Dental Hygiene Licensure Objective Structured Clinical Examination is in the final stages of development and will be released in 2025.
