Dental visits by state
Seven southern states have ranked among the lowest in the United States regarding dental visits by adults.
In the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, investigators analyzed annual dental visit rates by adults in each U.S. state, according to a news report from nola.com.
Compared with the national average of 66%, seven southern states reported rates below 60%, including Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia. Conversely, in eight states, more than 69% of adults stated that they visit a dentist: Connecticut, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, South Dakota and Utah.
