Dentistry latest profession eyed for interstate license reciprocity
In the past, Nevada lawmakers passed legislation making it easier for emergency medical services personnel licensed in other states to practice in the Nevada, and and now they are looking at another profession for occupational reciprocity: dentistry.
In April, the ADA and National Center for Interstate Compacts on Thursday presented to state lawmakers the idea of a new compact for dentists and dental hygienists, which would make it easier for people to begin working in their field after relocating to a different state.
About 15% of recent dental school graduates relocate within the first five years of entering the profession, according to the ADA.
