Federal freeze memo excluded FAFSA, student loans
The Trump administration’s memorandum to temporarily freeze federal grants and loans will not impact the Free Application for Federal Student Aid forms and student loans.
The U.S. Department of Education assured borrowers that had the freeze taken effect, FAFSA forms, federal student loans, Pell Grants and other types of direct student aid would have continued to be available, according to a news report from the Associated Press.
The report reminded students of the June 30th deadline for FAFSA applications for the 2024 to 2025 academic year.
