Gen Z men may be forgoing primary care providers

A large proportion of Generation Z men may not have a primary care provider, according to a survey conducted by the Cleveland Clinic.

Generation Z includes Americans born between 1997 and 2005, The Hill reported. Researchers asked 1,000 men questions regarding their health habits and concerns. The respondents were divided on the basis of generation.

In the survey, 37% of the Generation Z male respondents and 27% of Millennial men stated that they didn’t have a primary care provider compared with 17% of Generation X men and 7% of baby boomer men.

The researchers emphasized the need for men to have primary care providers who can monitor blood pressure, cholesterol, sexual health and symptoms of underlying health conditions.
