Gene that increases Alzheimer’s risk could be inherited
Alzheimer’s disease may be inherited more often than previously known, according to a new study that explores a gene long known to be linked to dementia.
As many as 1 in 6 cases of Alzheimer’s would be considered to be inherited, researchers said.
The new findings highlight the need for specialized research strategies, treatment approaches and clinical trials, according to the study.
