HPV info crucial during oral cancer screenings
Dental professionals should share oral cancer screening awareness and information about the human papillomavirus with their patients, as it is their professional and ethical responsibility to educate, writes registered dental hygienist Susan Cotten.
According to the American Cancer Society, about 58,450 Americans will be diagnosed with oral or oropharyngeal cancer in 2024 — about 160 diagnosed every day.
And about 33 Americans will die every day.
