JUUL e-cigarette ban reversed by FDA
The Food and Drug Administration announced June 6 that it has reversed its ban on Juul e-cigarettes while it reviews new court decisions and considers updated information provided by the vape maker.
The FDA first ordered the company to stop selling its products in 2022, but they have stayed on shelves pending an appeal.
At the time, the FDA said it had determined that the applications lacked sufficient evidence regarding the toxicological profile and the marketing of the products did not meet the public health standard required by law.
“The agency’s continued review does not alter the fact that all e-cigarette products, including those made by JUUL, are required by law to have FDA authorization to be legally marketed,” the FDA said.
