Mobile phone use not linked to brain cancer

The World Health Organization uncovered that mobile phone use may not be linked to an increased risk of brain cancer.

In a WHO-commissioned study published in Environmental International, investigators examined the data of 63 studies assessing radiofrequency radiation from mobile phones, televisions, baby monitors and radar and the development of brain cancer in adults and children between 1994 and 2022, according to a news report from Reuters.

The investigators found that despite the significant rise in the use of wireless technology, there was no corresponding increase in brain cancer incidence — even among those who frequently used mobile phones for over a decade or made long phone calls.
