Oklahoma Dental Foundation unveils free mobile dental clinics

The Oklahoma Dental Foundation has unveiled five new mobile dental clinics that will be available at no cost to Oklahoma residents.

The foundation created the clinics after receiving $5.1 million in American Rescue Plan Act pandemic relief funds. The dental clinics offer free professional cleanings and fillings to patients — many of whom have an annual income of less than $20,000.

“We're trying to make certain that those patients who have needs are not limited [in] access to care because of geographic reasons, which we're now overcoming, and not because of cost,” said John Wilguess, executive director of the Oklahoma Dental Foundation. “There should be no excuses for Oklahomans to put off going to the dentist, because if [they] can’t go to the dentist, the dentist will now come to [them],” he concluded.
