Other viruses replacing COVID-19 as most prominent

With spring season approaching, the COVID-19 virus has become less and less prominent. Evidence has shown infections are declining and concentrations of the virus have ranged from low to medium.

But other viruses are picking up. Influenza B, parainfluenza and norovirus, or the stomach bug that accounts for 58% of foodborne illness cases annually, are all surging, with the latter riding out a peak that began in early March.

To prevent these viruses, experts suggest washing your hands well, handling and preparing food safely, and taking steps to prevent the spread while camping or hiking.
