Recent data has shown that pediatric dentistry may be one of the fastest-growing specialties within the dental profession, according to a report from Becker’s Dental + DSO Review. For instance, the pediatric dental workforce more than doubled from 2001 to 2024.

Government-driven actions such as the impending removal of fluoride from public drinking water and a heightened prevalence of dental diseases among pediatric patients could continue to increase the demand for pediatric dentists.

To continue growth in the specialty, the experts suggested investments in artificial intelligence-based technologies and laser therapy.
