PTSD may increase odds of bruxism

Dentists treating patients who grind their teeth may want to inquire about underlying psychiatric conditions, according to new research. 

People with post-traumatic stress disorder face more than triple the odds of bruxism, otherwise known as teeth grinding.

The study of 76 Brazilian adults — half diagnosed with PTSD and half without the condition — found much higher incidence of daytime teeth grinding.
