Sleeplessness not necessarily associated with bruxism

A new study shows that insomnia and the level of emotional distress experienced by a person does not significantly affect the occurrence of bruxism.

The study indicated that individuals with insomnia are no more likely to experience sleep bruxism than those without sleep disorders, regardless of their stress levels.

Bruxism has the potential to cause dental damage and affect sleep quality.

Insomnia is one of the most common sleep disorders, with a prevalence of about 10%, researchers said.
