State to end Medicaid managed dental care program
The Arkansas Department of Human Services announced that it is ending its Medicaid managed care dental program and returning to a fee-for-service program.
The agency sent a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services outlining its plan to end the program. It also notified Delta Dental of Arkansas and Managed Care of North America, which operate the managed care dental program. The Department of Human Services will administer the program rather than Delta Dental and Managed Care of North America.
The dental managed care program has been in effect since Jan. 1, 2018, and serves 572,047 Arkansas residents. The new program is expected to launch Nov. 1.
