Technical colleges receive grants to address dental workforce shortage
New state grant funding will help Wisconsin’s technical colleges meet the demand for dental professionals.
The state legislature’s Joint Finance Committee allocated nearly $20 million in funding during their meeting on May 7.
The money was earmarked to oral health care workforce grants through a bipartisan bill passed by state lawmakers earlier this year, a response to a shortage of dental care workers in Wisconsin, with 34 of the state’s 72 counties having a dental health professional shortage.
