The prevalence of complete edentulism in adults
A study published in the Journal of the American Dental Association analyzed the trends and factors associated with edentulism for U.S. adults ages 65 and up, as this population has an increased risk of the condition. The study showed that there was a significant downward trend in the prevalence of edentulism from 16.36% in 2012 to 13.54% in 2020.
