Trends in operating microscope-assisted periodontal and oral implant procedures
Investigators have outlined trends in the use of operating microscopes in periodontics and oral implant microsurgery, according to a systematic review published in Evidence-Based Dentistry.
The investigators used the PubMed, EMBASE and SCOPUS databases to identify 55 studies involving various surgical techniques performed under an operating microscope. Trends included periodontal therapy, dental implant microsurgery, soft tissue grafting and periodontal plastic surgery, bone augmentation, ridge preservation and othoperio microsurgery.
