West Virginia University School of Dentistry to undergo renovations

The West Virginia University announced plans to expand and renovate its dental school following the receipt of $12.6 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The project — which will launch in 2025 — will involve the modernization of about 50,000 square feet of the Health Sciences Center, according to a news article from WV News. The updates may improve oral health education and patient care at the institution through enhanced learning experiences; revamped Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics clinics; and upgrades to the sanitary, HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems.

Leaders of the expansion and renovation hope the project can allow dentists to better meet the oral health needs of patients in West Virginia.
