When is the best week to list your home for sale?
The best week to list your home just happened, according to a new report from Realtor.com.
The week of April 14-20 had the ideal balance of housing market conditions that favor home sellers, the report said, adding that 53% of home sellers took one month or less to get their home ready to list. Historically, homes during this particular week have reached prices 1.1% higher than the average week throughout the year and are typically 10.4% higher than the start of the year.
This data comes from looking at seasonal trends from 2018-19 and 2021-23 and creating a Best Time to List score for each week of the year, based on several different housing metrics.
"While it does not have the highest price or the lowest time on the market of the year, this week offers higher-than-average prices and lower-than-average time on the market while also offering a higher-than-average number of buyers — measured as viewers per listing," the report stated.
